Musk ox live in the arctic and have thick hair that grows 2 feet long and almost touches the ground.
Musk ox also known as oxen, are herbivores. Not much grows in the artic but they eat moss, roots and lichen which is found under the snow. In the summer, they eat grass and arctic flowers and add that to their diet. Musk oxen travel in herds of 10 to 20 oxen. Musk oxen live about 12 to 20 years .Musk oxen are hunted by arctic wolves and occasionally polar bears. Musk oxen have curving, pointed horns. When threatened, musk oxen gather in a circle with their heads facing out. Their babies are protected in the middle of the circle. They use their strong horns to keep predators away from the babies. Humans hunted musk oxen for their meat and fur. The animals were almost extinct. Now they are protected. It is against the law to hunt them now. Ashleigh

Ingredients 1-1/2 pound Ground Beef 1 pound Hot Breakfast Sausage 2 cloves Garlic, Minced 2 cans (14.5 Ounce) Whole Tomatoes 2 cans (6 Ounce) Tomato Paste 2 Tablespoons Dried Parsley 2 Tablespoons Dried Basil 1 teaspoon Salt 3 cups Lowfat Cottage Cheese 2 whole Beaten Eggs 1/2 cup Grated (not Shredded) Parmesan Cheese 2 Tablespoons Dried Parsley 1 teaspoon Salt 1 pound Sliced Mozzarella Cheese 1 package (10 Ounce) Lasagna Noodles (add 1/2 Teaspoon Salt And 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil To Pasta Water) How to make home made LasagnaIn a skillet, combine 1 1/2 pounds ground beef, 1 pound hot breakfast sausage, and 2 cloves minced garlic.
Cook it until brown. After that, add two 14.5-oz cans of whole tomatoes, two 6-oz cans of tomato paste… 2 tablespoons of dried parsley flakes, 2 tablespoons of dried basil... And 1 tablespoon of salt. Mix together thoroughly and simmer, uncovered, about 45 minutes… Stirring it occasionally. In the meantime, boil a 10-oz package of lasagna noodles. Add 1/2 tablespoons of salt to the water, as well as 1 tablespoon of olive oil to keep the noodles from sticking. Cook the noodles so they’ll still have quite a bite to them. When they’re finished cooking, drain, rinse with cool water, and lay the noodles flat on a sheet of aluminum foil. That way, they’ll be easier to handle later. While the meat mixture and noodles are cooking, mix 3 cups low-fat cottage cheese in a bowl with 2 beaten eggs. To the cottage cheese, add 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese.2 tablespoons of dried parsley flakes, and 1 tablespoon of salt. Mix them together well. Now, go ahead and build your assembly line: meat mixture, 1 pound sliced mozzarella cheese, cottage cheese mixture, and cooked lasagna noodles. Let the assembly begin! Lay four cooked lasagna noodles in the bottom of the pan, overlapping as you go. Spread half of the cottage cheese mixture evenly over the noodles… Then lay 1/2 pound of mozzarella cheese slices on top of the cottage cheese mixture. With the spoon, make a line through the middle of the meat mixture so you’ll distribute it evenly. Spread a little less than half of the meat mixture over the mozzarella cheese slices… Until it’s evenly distributed. Now repeat the process. Add another layer of four lasagna noodles… And top with the remaining half of the cottage cheese mixture. Then top the cottage cheese mixture with another 1/2 pound of mozzarella. And finish with the rest of the meat mixture. Spread evenly. Now grab that trusty-rusty container of Kraft Parmesan Cheese and start shaking it. Top with a pretty generous layer. Now pop it in a 350-degree oven for 20-30 minutes, until hot and bubbly. (Alternately, you could cover and freeze it, unbaked, at this point. OR cover and refrigerate, unbaked, for up to two days before baking.) Ashleigh We did it! WE GOT JUPITER! Scooby only came to me, so that was a NO, Shaggy didn't really come to any of us, so that was also a NO, Freddy came to ALL OF US so we got him and still call him Jupiter. So far we got him two toys.
I picked out a carrot with a smiley face that squeaks, and he picked out a T-Rex toy that squeaks. What happened is when we walked past it, he went to grab it, so we bought that toy. He is 4 months old and... he is a Pit bull/Dalmatian mix, and has to sleep in his crate for a week. I have to take him for walks when he has to go pee or poop. Even thought he sometimes poops or pees in the house. I mostly only play with him. His birth date is 12/5/2017. He like's to go under Daddy's desk and lie down if me and my sister Maddie are still sleeping. He sometimes barks at Maddie's boyfriend Seth because Jupiter doesn't fully know him. It's too bad that I'm allergic to dogs. Or I would be able to hug him more, even though I am still allowed to hug him. Ashleigh The Great Barrier Reef is beautiful but also contains some of the deadliest most poisonous fish in the ocean, like the Box Jellyfish, the Blue Ringed Octopus, and the Stone Fish. The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef system in the world. It is found in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland, Australia.
The Great Barrier Reef is home to a wide range of life, including fish of many kinds sea turtles, giant clams, seahorses, sea snakes and eels, stingrays which are poisonous if you touch the tail, sharks and many more beautiful and deadly fish. Over 1500 different types of fish live in the Great Barrier Reef, including clownfish. Whales, and dolphins can also be seen in the Great Barrier Reef. Man made pollution is a big threat to the coral reef or great Barrier reef. An other threat is raped changes in water temperature. The Great Barrier Reef is home to about 400 species of coral! Six of the world’s seven species of sea turtles breed here at the great barrier reef. The Great Barrier Reef is made up of about 3,000 individual reefs and 900 islands. Ashleigh We may be getting a new dog on Saturday. His real name is Scooby but I will call him Jupiter. He is a pit bull terrier mix, costs $450 dollars, and his birth date is: 12/5/2017. We never had a pit bull, so we don't know what he's going to be like.
If he like's us we buy him and see how he like's the house, if he doesn't and goes in the corner we don't get him and keep looking. He has black spots on his ears and is bonded to two more pit bull terrier mix's called Shaggy, Freddy, and Daphne. Velma must of already have bin bought. Shaggy has brown or chocolate spots on his ears and has the same birth date as Scooby. Oh and they all have the same birth date. Freddy has only white ears and all of the puppies reactions are friendly. Daphne is Black with Brown, Red, Golden, and Orange... somehow. Ashleigh There are around 300 species of octopus, usually located in tropical and temperate ocean waters, like coral reefs. Octopuses have two eyes in a globe-shaped head which is called a mantle off which protrude eight long limbs called tentacles which have two rows of sucker senses. Octopuses can squeeze into small spaces because they don't have a skeleton inside of them.
An octopus has a hard beak, like a parrot beak, which they use to break into and eat their pray like crabs and shellfish. Octopus have three hearts. Two branchial hearts pump blood through each of the two gills, while the third is a systemic hearts that pumps blood through the body. The largest octopus is believed to be the giant Pacific octopus, which weigh about 15 kg, and has an arm span up to 14 feet. An octopus's main defense against predators such as sharks is to hide and camouflage itself by using there skin cells to change its color. It can also be used to talk with or warn other octopuses near bye. Another defense is to make a fast escape. Octopuses can eject a thick, blackish ink in a large cloud to distract the predator while the octopus uses a jet propulsion system to quickly swim away headfirst, with arms trailing behind the octopus. Octopuses have very good eyesight and an excellent sense of touch. Ashleigh Live life, help life, and most of all, respect life for what it is. Life won't last forever, but long enough to have children, for them to have children, and plenty more for the world to be mostly full. Your should go with the good side of life, rather then the bad.
Life is better when you follow these rules: Effort, Etiquette, Sincerity, Character, and Self-control. If someone special to you died, they are better to be up there, where they don't have to go through all the pain they put into seeing you one last time. Just like Lucky who used to be our dog... It's better if you defend your self from robbers and other bad people to help you move on in life. A life cycle is a definition of what an animal goes through during it's lifetime. Birds go from the egg, to the chick, to the adult. Amphibians go from the egg, to the larva, to the adult. Plants go from the seed, to the seedling , to the flowering plant. Insect go from the egg, to the larva, to the pupa, to the adult. Even a human has a life cycle. A human goes from a baby, then a toddler, then an older child, then a teenager, then an adult, and finally you marry someone. I'm not sure if marrying someone is part of the life cycle, but anyway, you get the idea. Ashleigh Catfish are a type of fish that belong to the group of ray-finned fish. Catfish mostly live in freshwater rivers or streams found in America. A catfish' length is normally 1-2 feet long, though a channel catfish can get up to 4.5 feet long. The largest catfish ever caught was a Mekong giant catfish, which was nearly 9 feet long and weighed 646 pounds!
A catfish has about 100,000 taste buds! When a new-born catfish reach 4 inches, it is the size of an index finger. Catfish are the fifth most popular fish in America. More than 447 million pounds of catfish were produced in 1995. Most species have tentacles protruding from the area around the mouth, that look like the whiskers of a cat, which is how they got their name. Not all catfish species have these whiskers, however. Catfish are always bottom-feeders, meaning they feed at the bottom of the water they inhabit. Their diet consists of fish, insects and worms, but they also sometimes feed on small mammals and reptiles. Catfish usually suck in or gulp down their prey instead of biting. A Mekong giant catfish could eat a child... for a snack! Some Catfish live in fresh water. A channel catfish's whiskers can sting you if you touch them. Ashleigh Lemurs are capable of using all their senses that includes the sense of smelling, tasting, hearing and all others. They can smell and understand whenever they find a meal or food to eat mostly anywhere. They know whenever there is a prey nearby so that they become alert and get ready to attack it. Lemurs have gray, or red fur, black and white tails, pointy noses, have mostly white faces... except for around the eyes which are black, and pointy ears like elves.
Lemurs are mostly found in Madagascar. They are also found in Comoro Islands. The word Lemur is Latin and means "spirits of the night". All Lemurs have a long nose and they have four legs. They sit or they stand up but they always walk on all fours. They don’t walk upright as other primates have been known to do. They have thin fur due to the warm locations of where they live. They live in families of up to 15 members. Most of them consist of males, females, and offspring. Though, there are some which are only females and their young. The males have been driven out so they live alone or they form male only families. The females are normally the leaders of the Lemur families. |
