I've talked in the past about the beauty of where I live; but today it really hit me. Here in NH, the leaves are already fully changed and it's gorgeous. Just driving down my street alone is like driving through a postcard! I had made a timelapse of my road earlier today, but sadly it won't allow me to post it here. Thankfully, I took a couple of photos as well so I'll post those below. I honestly am so glad that I live in an area that makes me want to be alive when I look outside... no matter the season. Literally every season here is beautiful; particularly fall. The leaves are everywhere and the shades are indescribable. If you've never been to NH... I definitely think you should take a weekend trip to see it some time. I promise you, it is worth it no matter the time. I know this has been a short post.. but honestly; I think the photos themselves should make my point for me. "Within nature lies the cure for humanity."

Take some time and smell the roses. See what's around you. Soak it in... and make it a part of you. Nowadays, everyone seems to be somewhere where they are not. I live in a beautiful part of New Hampshire. People come here year round for vacation. During the summer, there are the lakes and hiking trails. Mount Monadnock is one of the most climbed mountains in the world. During the winter, there is ice fishing, snow mobiling, skiing and warm nights around a fire... well, maybe not too much at my house since I am kind of lazy about building the fire, but I digress. The locals walk around here saying that they want to move to Florida or almost anywhere else but here. I just don't understand it. The beauty around this part of New Hampshire is amazing! Every day when I go out, I smile while I drive. No traffic, beautiful views, wildlife, and friendly people. Who could ask for more! People, I have said it before and I'll say it again. If you are not happy with where you are living, then move. Just make sure you know why you are moving. If you are running away from personal problems. They will continue to find you, unless you deal with the problem Moving to a beautiful mountain setting did not stop my wife from drinking herself to death. We didn't move because we thought it would... but it wouldn't have mattered anyway. You need to face your problems, not run away from them The pictures in this post are what I see when I look around my area. They are not in any special order. They are just pictures that make me happy to be living where I live What makes you happy? Think about it, and really know the answer to that question before you go moving. I did, and I believe I made the best move of my life. Possessions do not make me happy. Beauty and memories do. All of these pictures were taken within a few minutes of my house. There is beauty all around you, Not just in New Hampshire, but where you are too!. If any of you would like to do a guest post and show pictures of the beauty in your area, leave me a comment. I would love to share your scenic pictures of your area. It would be awesome if we could get pictures from a number of different states. The beauty is around you folks. All you need to do is take the time to become aware of it.
Good night, Wayne I have a wind chime. It is very pretty. It has a cross on it and when the wind blows, it makes noises. I like the pretty noises it makes. The wind chime is hanging in my kitchen.
Ashleigh Easter is in three weeks. I can't wait! I love to decorate and bake. My sister will help me. I am

I'm currently in the car on the way to karate. I know that lately my blog posts have been written when I'm out and about and have been more about my day than any other topic matter; but honestly... Blogs are whatever happens to be on my mind and usually my days are on my mind.
This obviously won't be posted until later, but right now it is 4:06 pm and it already looks like sunset. The sky is a dark grey, and the rain is falling just enough for the windshield wipers to be necessary. I haven't seen another car the whole time we've been out, and this road is considered to be a busy road. I think this is one of my favorite parts about living in New Hampshire- no matter what time it is, it is peaceful. Quiet. Serene. It's nice sometimes to drive down a road with thick forest on either side of it, with hills and curves winding around the mountain you happen to be driving up. It gives me an appreciation for where I live and how my life is. So often you'll hear of these horrible things in the world- war, bombings, death and crime... And when you go into cities, it's so fast-paced and crowded and quite the opposite of peaceful. I've only been to Boston ONCE when I was little and that was more than enough for me. The atmosphere isn't for me. When I get older, I plan to move further north into Franconia, and live there. It's beautiful there and very laid back, and I think it would be a positive place to live. On top of that, the beauty would still be there and I would still be close to family. I don't know. Those are my thoughts as of now. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day. - Maddie I like flowers. They are nice and colorful. They can be like a rainbow. In our yard, we have
yellow, blue, purple and white flowers. They are dying now that it is getting cold. I love winter, but I miss my flowers! Ashleigh It's late. I'm extremely tired; and still have a blog post after this one to do. What the hell I'm going to write about, I don't know. I just know I have to have it done before tomorrow. You see, I have plans for the weekend already set up. However; in order to carry through with those plans- I need to have all my work for the week done, including blog posts. Since the plans are starting tomorrow, I already have all of tomorrow's work done ahead of time. That is; except for the blog post.
Since I included a list of 5 things to run a successful blog in my last post, I'll continue my list trend in this post with 5 things I wind up doing when I get over-tired and can't fall asleep.
Well, that's all for this post! I hope some of these tricks work for you. ~Maddie Thanksgiving is coming up in the next few weeks. Halloween is still my favorite Fall holiday.
Christmas is my favorite holiday over all, though. We usually eat turkey on Thanksgiving, followed by pie and ice cream. I give thanks for my family on Thanksgiving. Ashleigh I do lots of school work. I am learning how to read. And I do some math as well. This
blog is also part of my schoolwork. I hope you like our blog. Ashleigh Change is like a glacier...it moves slowly! Here we are halfway through June already and I am still working on the same projects as I was in January.
The book of my wife's poetry is almost complete, but it has been moving forward in fits and starts. A few pages get in here and there, then weeks go by before I get around to adding more. My best strategy so far has been to assign Maddie to add in some of Sharon's poems as an assignment for her schoolwork. Sharon was a good poet and this way Maddie gets to see some of her work. At this point, I think Maddie, Ashleigh and I may be the only people to ever read the book, so it is a labor of love to put all of the poems together as a book. While Sharon was lying in a coma in the hospital, I made four promises to her. Trying to publish her poems was one of them. I didn't forget babe, sometimes things just take longer to do than I thought. Another project that is taking a while to complete is the cleaning out of my garage and basement. I have made some progress in the garage over the past three weeks, but there is still a long way to go! Last week, Maddie and I brought six Tupperware containers full of items to the flea market to sell. We sold what we could, and then dropped the remaining things off at the good will box afterward. We got rid of two plastic garbage bags of shoes, another garbage bag of stuffed animals, and four and a half containers of clothes. We brought back one and a half containers of things that were looked at a lot, but didn't sell. We figured that since they attracted people's eye, we would use them for bait next week! Even after removing all of that stuff, we still have a long way to go before the garage will be cleared out. Already this week I have gotten five more containers ready to go to the flea market, and it barely looks like I have touched the garage. I also have another bag of stuffed animals and another bag of shoes ready to go as well. I think it will take about five trips to the flea market before we even make a dent in all the junk! And that's even before we get started on the stuff in the basement. At the moment, those are the two big projects I am focused on. Writing on this blog every day is working out great. I think the girls actually enjoy writing things every day, as do I. We have added a categories bar at the side of the site to make it easier to find posts on the many different topics we cover. In general, life is looking up! I continue to train in the martial arts and I work out at home sporadically. I'd like to say that I work out every day, but life keeps me busy, and so far, a few times a week has been the best that I have managed. Working out every day takes dedication and time. So far, both of those factors have been battling me. I am not ready to give up on working out every day as a goal, though, so I will keep trying! To finish up, change is slow. But I have time. My house isn't going anywhere. And neither am I. The garage will get done this year, and so will the book of poetry. I have an urge to put down some decorative rock outside my office door to make the yard look nicer, but so far, that's just an urge. If I bring that on as a project, it means that I will likely not finish up the garage. It is harder to focus when you have too many things pulling at you. For now, the rocks will remain a thing to think about. Getting the junk out of my garage is where the glacier is moving right now. Although many people dream of working from home full time, I can tell you from experience that there are some downsides to it. The biggest negative is that you never know when people are not in. Working from home you end up having to rely on people to get your reports to the editor...or if there is a problem with your page you need the production guys around to fix up your page. If any one cog in the machine is missing, you end up with headaches.
Today, there was a key person missing in production and two of my stocks are still waiting to be galleyed. This wouldn't be too bad if I wasn't waiting since Friday on one of the two! I work on the weekends and I was trying to get the one stock prepped to work on. Now, I have had the writing edited, I have all of my numbers done, but I have a page showing the format for last year! Oy! You would think that they would have more than one person who can handle production problems! Nope, out of the three people in the department, only one can fix problems Another thing that is tough is that you never get to develop camaraderie with the people you work with. I still have friends that I originally met at Value Line from when I worked there in the early 1990's. This time through, while I can recognize some of the names, I think I would have a tough time picking most of them out in a crowd. The old timers, yes I recognize them. But anyone who started in the past ten years is hit or miss. Overall, I have to admit that I like working from home.I get to really know my daughters in a way that just wasn't available to my Dad when me and my sister were growing up. In fact, I suspect many parents nowadays just don't get to experience true parenting. When I reflect on what I am doing...I have to say I am happy. Are things perfect? No, I could be making more money. I can stand to lose a few pounds...but overall, I am doing what I was put on this earth to do. Raise my children to the best of my abilities. My family is good at baking and cooking. Maddie made brownies today. I tasted one, and I liked it very, very, very much! I want to learn how to bake too. Baking is fun!
