There are over 10,000 different species of grasshoppers found on every continent except for Antarctica. Some live in jungles and forests. Grasshoppers are eaten by raccoons, big brown bats, and red foxes. Grasshoppers hatch out of eggs. The eggs are long and thin.
Grasshoppers never eat other insects. They are called herbivores, because they eat only plants. They will eat the grass in your yard. They will also eat the crops you have in your field. Ashleigh

Peacocks are large, colorful birds that have blue and green tail feathers. These tail feathers spread out in a train. Blue, gold, and red eye markings cover its train. The large train is used for mating and blending in with there environment. Females are believed to choose their mates according to the size, and color.
Peacocks eat insects, plants, and small creatures. There are two familiar peacock species. The blue peacock lives in India and Sri Lanka. The green peacock is found in Java and Myanmar Burma. Peacocks are pretty. Ashleigh Cats are mammals that do not like mice. Cats eat lots of food including dry cat food, wet cat food, mice, and lot's more. They often eat their pray such as chicken. Cats will mate throughout the year as the breeding season is running as early as February and as late as December, although the average season is from March, to September. Cats have several needs that require humans.
Aside from needing food and water, cats also need litter boxes, scratching items, toys, and safe snuggly sleeping spots. There are many kinds of cats. There are: tigers, lions, leopards, cheetahs, bobcats, and panthers. I like cats. I like dogs too. Ashleigh Ducks are birds that can swim in water and walk on land. Most wild ducks eat underwater plants. Some ducks will eat small fish and insects. They also eat grain and seeds. Ducks are freshwater birds.
They like places where the food is easy to get. Ducks make nests which help protect them from dangerous predators. Ducks spend most of their time in warm water. Ducks live in different countries, depending on the species. I think ducks are cute. Ashleigh Squirrels are mammals that climb trees. Squirrels are only five inches long from nose to tail. Others reach sizes to those who are only familiar with common tree squirrels. The Indian giant squirrel is three feet long. Like other rodents, squirrels have four front teeth that never stop growing.
Tree squirrels are seen gracefully scampering and leaping from branch to branch. Other species are ground squirrels that live in burrows where they hibernate during the winter. Ground squirrels eat nuts, leaves, roots, seeds, and other plants. They also catch and eat small animals, such as insects and caterpillars. These small mammals must always be aware of predators. Sometimes groups of ground squirrels work together to warn each other of approaching danger with a whistling call. Ashleigh Salamanders are amphibians that live in water and on land. Some salamanders are poisonous. Salamanders live any place that is not too dry and not too cold. That includes most of North America, south of the Artic Circle, Central America, tropical South America , most of Europe, and much of Asia. Salamander's eat insects and spiders.
Salamanders get their poison from the poison in the bugs they eat. Which is a lot of poison. Ashleigh Jackals are part of the wolf family. Jackals are very similar to wolfs. Their ears are alike, their tails are alike, even their pups are alike except for their color. Jackals live in open savannas, deserts, and grasslands. Most jackals are found in Africa and Asia.
There are four species of jackals: the golden jackal, the side-striped jackal, the black-backed jackal and the Ethiopian wolf jackal. Jackals can change their diet depending on available food. They mostly eat insects, berries, and small mammals like rodents, but will sometimes form a pack to hunt larger prey. They are mistaken for eating mostly carrion, which is actually only a small portion of their diet. Ashleigh |
