Salamanders are amphibians that live in water and on land. Some salamanders are poisonous. Salamanders live any place that is not too dry and not too cold. That includes most of North America, south of the Artic Circle, Central America, tropical South America , most of Europe, and much of Asia. Salamander's eat insects and spiders.

Snakes are carnivores. Which means they only eat meat. Some snakes swallow their food whole. Large snakes will strangle their prey to death and then swallow it whole. Some snakes like cobras and vipers use venom to hunt.
Snakes live in almost every corner of the world. They are found in forests, deserts, swamps and grasslands. Snakes do not like the cold. This is because they are cold blooded. Snakes can eat animals, but that doesn't mean they can't eat you. Ashleigh Bears are meat eating mammals. Black bears are found in every part of North America. Polar bears live on the north pole. Brown bears live in North America, Asia, and Europe. Brown bears are one of the largest bear species. Brown bears are even larger than black bears.
Its fur is from dark to reddish brown to cream toned. Black bears are one of the more common species in North America. They live in many different habitats, and are not picky about what they eat. Their smell gives them much information about the foods they are going to eat. Polar bears live in the Arctic territories of North America and Eurasia. Their habitat includes both land and sea ice. Often polar bears live on ice and drift from one area to another. Polar bears eat fish, and seals. Ashleigh Frogs are amphibians that live on every content except for Africa and Antarctica. Frogs are cold-blooded and love to eat bugs. Frogs are fun to look at, but don't get to close, you never know which one is poisonous. The Poison-Dort-frog is really poisonous. Don't touch him or you will be poisoned.
Tree frogs have things that look like suction cups on there fingers which helps them climb trees. Tree frogs and all the other frogs can jump really high. Tree frogs spend most of the time in trees. Tree frogs have blood red eyes. They also have a very long tongue. Ashleigh Lions are mammals that live in Africa. Lions eat meat which means they are predators. Male lions have manes, girls do not. When baby boys are born they need to grow to get their manes. The dad lions don't hunt much, the moms do most of the hunting.
Lions eat large animals like zebras, and wildebeest. They also eat smaller animals. At 3 to 4 years old, males and females are ready to mate. She will give birth to her young babies away from others and hide the cubs for the first six weeks of their lives. So don't try to take their cubs, or you will become their lunch. Ashleigh Jackals are part of the wolf family. Jackals are very similar to wolfs. Their ears are alike, their tails are alike, even their pups are alike except for their color. Jackals live in open savannas, deserts, and grasslands. Most jackals are found in Africa and Asia.
There are four species of jackals: the golden jackal, the side-striped jackal, the black-backed jackal and the Ethiopian wolf jackal. Jackals can change their diet depending on available food. They mostly eat insects, berries, and small mammals like rodents, but will sometimes form a pack to hunt larger prey. They are mistaken for eating mostly carrion, which is actually only a small portion of their diet. Ashleigh Giraffes can eat hundreds of pounds of leaves per week. Giraffes are herbivores, which means they only eat plants. Their long necks allow them to reach leaves, buds, and branches that are higher than most animals can reach. A giraffe eats hundreds of pounds of leaves each week and must travel miles to find enough food.
Giraffes are the world's tallest mammals in the world. Their legs and feet can grow up to 6 feet long. These long legs allow giraffes to run as fast as 35 miles an hour over short distances. The giraffe's height also helps it to keep a sharp lookout for predators across the wide grasslands of the African savanna. Lions stay away from giraffes because giraffes have a very powerful kick. To drink giraffes have to bend down and spread its legs because their neck is so long . Female giraffes give birth standing up. Their young babies welcome into the world by falling more than 5 feet to the ground at birth. The babies can stand in half an hour and run with their mothers ten hours after birth. Ashleigh |
