Merry Christmas everyone! Sorry I'm a day late for this post, I got the day off of school so I didn't really think about it until it was to late. Anyway, with Christmas out of the way, I can be exited for my next favorite holiday, My Birthday!
I think everyone likes there birthday, and I am extremely exited! I am going to be ten on January 18th. I'm sorry if this post is a little boring, I was just Informing you on the upcoming events. Because this post is so short, here is a quick quote to end off this post. "Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas." – Calvin Coolidge Ashleigh

This is a quote by James F. Byrnes. He was an American judge and politician from the state of South Carolina. A member of the Democratic Party, Byrnes served in Congress, the executive branch, and on the United States Supreme Court.
Here is what this quote means. People are scared of the smallest things, take mice for example, Lots of people (including me apparently) are scared of them, even though they don't bite, unless your provoking them. Same with spiders, as long as you don't go near huge spiders, like a wolf spider or something, you are good. I think people should be less scared of things like that, even though I'm literally scared of mouse traps... Funny story, I actually got my toe caught in one, and I have feared them ever since. Yes, we all have our moments, but I don't understand why people are afraid of spiders. Ashleigh This quote was by Eleanor Roosevelt. She was an American political figure, diplomat and activist. She served as the First Lady of the United States from March 4, 1933, to April 12, 1945, during her husband President Franklin D. Roosevelt's four terms in office, making her the longest serving First Lady of the United States.
This quote means, well, the tile of this blog is basically what it means, "Since you get more joy out of giving joy to others, you should put a good deal of thought into the happiness that you are able to give." Sometimes, when I'm eating something, I let my dad have the last bite. I think this is a very nice quote. I think that people should share more often. I enjoy sharing. I think It's a good way to make people happy, and I love making people happy! (If you couldn't already tell.) Ok, here is a quote I will do another time. “We must give more in order to get more. It is the generous giving of ourselves that produces the generous harvest.”-- Orison Swett Marden Ashleigh This is a quote by Mark Twain. He was an American writer, humorist, entrepreneur, publisher, and lecturer. He was lauded as the "greatest humorist this country has produced", and William Faulkner called him "the father of American literature".
Here is what I think this quote means. You can be kind to anyone, even If they're deaf, or blind. There is always a way to be nice. You should be nice to everyone, except robbers or killers. I try to be nice to everyone. I think this is a very nice and good quote! Everyone should be nice to each other. In my opinion, I think there should be less fighting in the world, and more people being kind. As usual, I'm ending this post with a quote I will get to another time. "He that has done you a kindness will be more ready to do you another, than he whom you yourself have obliged".~ Benjamin Franklin. Ashleigh "There are two things a person should never be angry at, what they can help, and what they cannot."12/1/2019 This is a quote by Plato. He was an Athenian philosopher during the Classical period in Ancient Greece, founder of the Platonist school of thought, and the Academy, the first institution of higher learning in the Western world.
I think that the title of the quote explains it what it mean. I still have to learn this lesson, though. I am going to tell you a story about when I got mad at myself in Uno. I had 1 red card left, and someone swapped hands with me, I now had a wild card, which I put it down and without thinking, I turn the color red. I got mad at myself. I think this quote shows more wisdom than anything else. A lot of people need to learn this lesson.I am going to end this post with another quote, like always. "Anger and intolerance are the enemies of correct understanding."~ Mahatma Gandhi Ashleigh This person is unknown...
This quote means that sisters are different, but that doesn't stop them from being in the same family. I have a sister, and, me and her are very different. She is a redhead, I am a blond/brown. She is 18, I am nine going on 10 soon. She is WAY taller than me. We argue a lot. But that does not stop us from being family. I think that this quote is weird, though a good weird. I don't know how to explain it so I am going to end this post with another quote I will do someday. "Sisters touch your heart in ways no other could. Sisters share… their hopes, their fears, their love, everything they have."~ Carrie Bagwell Ashleigh |
