I was taking my shower last night when I got around to thinking about how SO MANY people make a huge fuss over celebrities when they are just regular people. What really got to me was the fact that they aren't everything that people make them out to be... they're people, just like us. Sure, maybe a bit more popular... the world knows them, but they don't know the world. They, like us, have best friends not in the spotlight. They have to eat and breath and sleep to stay alive, just like us.
I don't know why I've never thought of it this way. Literally, the wave of realization is something I can't put to words, but it happened because I tried imagining someone so over-publicized doing something as normal as stopping at a McDonald's because they were thirsty, or taking off their makeup at the end of the day to collapse into bed after a hard day of work. Things we do everyday... but never think of when we see these people on TV. Instead, we automatically think they have lives that are so much better than ours- forgetting that they too have the same problems we do in our everyday lives. They fall down and get hurt, too. They embarrass themselves too. They are just as human as we are- and we need to stop treating them like something they aren't. They are not demi-gods, and to be honest they are no better than any of us because they are human too.... regardless of having more money or more fame. Maddie
